Whether it is a casual stroll or a challenging hill walk, the west coast of Scotland provides ideal variations in terrain and geography for all people to enjoy.

Arran, Scotland in miniature, has some stunning mountainous terrain. Cowal has some fantastic undulating hills and valleys with quaint villages. Kintyre has some of the most stunning coastline and viewpoints.

No matter where you decide to walk in the west coast there will be something perfect for you to try.

The Kintyre Way

Walks such as the West Highland Way and the Great Glen Way are now joined by Kintyre's very own way.

The walk, with varying degrees of length and difficulty takes some of the best locations that Kintyre has to offer as part of breaking up the walk into manageable sections. See Skipness Castle, Saddell Abbey, Carradale Bay, Campbeltown Loch and the Machrihanish Seabird Observatory on your way from the starting point at Tarberts Royal Castle ruin.
