The best way to see West Scotland is of course by car, allowing you to go and do what you want when you want, some journeys make take a long time, others may not giving you that flexibility to go from place to place as you desire.

There are no trains south of Oban or west of Helensburgh so you have a choice between car or bus as quick transport.

Cycling is popular in the west of Argyll, although as some of the roads are very narrow and often used by large wood lorries, it is not recommended to use cycling as your primary method of transport.

To get from island to island Caledonian MacBrayne provides ferry transport, fees vary depending on vehicles, people and destination but gives you great access to unspoilt areas of Scotland.
