Machrihanish Golf Club, Campbeltown.

Machrihanish is Argyll & Kintyre's premier golf club and regarded as one of the best links golf courses in Scotland and Europe.

The 18 hole championship course is without doubt a course to admire and savour on every round and is built on the natural coastal undulations that formed the land.

Additionally there is a 9 hole course for less developed or younger amateur golfers.

Dunaverty Golf Club

Dunaverty Golf Club is a very nice golf club, welcoming and easy to find with a superb condition 18 hold golf course with good varying holes and superb views across the sandy beach and coast.

The 18 hole, par 66 course has some superbly challenging holes and is the second best golf course on Kintyre after the Championship Course at Machrihanish.

Carradale Golf Club

Founded in 1906 is a 9 hole course that sits at the rear of the Carradale Hotel. The course has panoramic views towards the Isle of Arran.

Of the four golf courses on the Peninsula, Carradale Golf Club is that little bit more out of the way, which means during peak season it is likely to be much quieter than the other courses.

Tarbert Golf Club

Tarbert Golf Club is a small moorland course with a two very small streams running through several of the holes and an undulating terrain with several blind holes to keep you entertained. Big hitters will not be challenged by the distances offered here and there are no bunkers which adds to the ease of play.

The 9 hole course is complete with a club house and has excellent views across West Loch Tarbert. The honesty box is provided.

Clubs are available to hire and you should try and find the greenkeeper for this.

Gigha Golf Club

This fine 9 hole course is quiet and ideal on the Isle of Gigha. The general flatness of the island means that the walk and course are not undulating and unnecessarily hilly.

The course is relatively new, only twenty years old, but offers a course which leaves you free to play at your own pace with stunning panoramic views across to Kintyre and opposite to Islay.
